How the nodes are calculated
The lunar nodes are the two points where the Moon's orbit crosses the apparent path of the Sun. They aren't bodies, but because eclipses happen exactly there they're read as the axis of fate. They move backwards and complete the zodiac in about eighteen and a half years.
Nodal returns
- 18-19: the first return; choosing a direction, leaving home.
- 37-38: the second; a mid-life course correction.
- 55-56: the third; the question of meaning and legacy.
Stepping into the North Node
The North Node feels foreign and clumsy; the South Node is what you can do with your eyes closed. The moment things get hard you slip South, and life brings the same lesson again. Small, regular steps into the theme of your North Node house are the only way to break the loop.
